This Is the Kit is the alias of British musician Kate Stables and the band she fronts. Formed in the early 2000’s in Winchester, England, the project began as a solo creative outlet before evolving into a collaborative indie folk rock group. The core members are Kate Stables (vocals, guitar, banjo), Rozi Plain (bass, vocals), Neil Smith (guitar), and Jamie Whitby-Coles (drums, vocals) and long-time collaborator Jesse D. Vernon also frequently contributes.The band has released seven studio albums, including Krulle Bol (2008), Wriggle out the Restless (2010), Bashed Out (2015), Moonshine Freeze (2017), Off Off On (2020), and Careful of Your Keepers (2023).
